Privacy
Peeko Prose is designed so your manuscript can be checked without being sent to Peeko Prose.
The short version
The checker runs in your browser. Manuscript text, imported files, saved drafts, checking settings and learned choices remain in storage controlled by your browser on your device. Peeko Prose currently has no account system, advertising, behavioural analytics or manuscript database.
Information Peeko handles on your device
- Manuscript text: the writing you paste, type or import for local analysis.
- Saved drafts: names, full text, language profile, checking settings and local timestamps.
- Learned choices: a technical fingerprint, observation category, short identifying cue and local dates. This helps Peeko recognise a choice you marked intentional.
- Preferences: British or American English and the sensitivities you select.
These are stored using browser features such as IndexedDB, localStorage and the offline application cache. They are used only to provide features you request. See Local data and backups for precise controls.
Information that may reach service providers
When you visit Peeko online, the company hosting and protecting the website may process ordinary technical request information—such as IP address, browser type, requested page, time and security signals—to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose availability. Peeko Prose does not use that information to read manuscripts or build advertising profiles.
If you email peekoprose@gmail.com, the message, your email address and anything you voluntarily include are processed by the email provider so Peeko Prose can respond. Do not send manuscript text unless you actively want it included in your support request.
Optional support through Ko-fi
“Support Peeko” links open an external page operated by Ko-fi. Peeko Prose does not embed Ko-fi tracking or payment code in the checker. If you visit Ko-fi or choose to make a payment, Ko-fi and its payment providers process the information needed for that visit and transaction under their own privacy notices.
Peeko Prose may receive the supporter details, amount, message and payment information that Ko-fi makes available to the page owner. Supporting Peeko does not send manuscript text, saved drafts, checking settings or learned choices to Ko-fi.
Cookies and analytics
Peeko Prose currently uses no advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics. Local browser storage is used for drafts, settings, learned choices and offline operation. If this changes, this notice and any consent controls will be updated before the new processing begins.
Legal basis, retention and sharing
Local manuscript processing happens at your request and is not received by the Peeko Prose operator. Support correspondence and limited operational information may be handled for the legitimate interests of answering users, maintaining security and operating the service. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or legal obligations.
Peeko Prose does not sell personal information. Information may be handled by hosting, security or email providers acting as service providers, or disclosed when legally required. Those providers may process technical or email information in other countries under their own safeguards.
Your choices and rights
You can export, restore or delete Peeko’s local data from the “Back up & move” panel. Clearing browser data or uninstalling the app can also remove it, and Peeko Prose cannot recover it. Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information Peeko Prose actually receives, including access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection.
